Orange Launches Official Glastonbury 2011 App

by Mr Mobile on 5 Jun 2011

Heading to Glastonbury this year? Thanks to Orange and Glastonbury Festival, you can now download the recently launched official Glastonbury app for your smartphone, designed to help festival-goers make the most of this legendary event. The only official mobile app for the 2011 event, Glastonbury 2011 offers users a customisable line-up, social sharing, interactive map and constantly updated festival news and information. The official Glastonbury app is now available for free download on Android and iPhone operating systems, with a Nokia version due to be released soon.

The ‘schedule’ section of the official Glastonbury app will allow visitors to select and add acts to a planner in order to co-ordinate their Glastonbury experience, with the option to share personal schedules on Facebook. The highly interactive map will display acts currently playing on individual stages, and the future line-ups, plus the news section will keep festival visitors up to date about important announcements.

“With the sheer size of the festival, providing up to the minute important news and information like changes to set times is always difficult, so we’re pleased that this year we’ll be able to communicate directly with festival goers via the app,” says Glastonbury Festival organiser Emily Eavis.
